But Ring doorbells also have a flaw the battery of the doorbell has some known issues here we will discuss the reason behind the flaw and how to correct this. There are many reasons because of which your Ring doorbell won't charge.
Troubleshoot Ring doorbell battery not charging
Refresh the ring application battery status: If you are using a Ring Doorbell, Ring Doorbell 2, Ring Doorbell 3, or 3 Plus, then you will get the option to run the lithium battery supplied and to hard-wire them. If you are using the battery as your device's power supply, then you need to charge it manually. In that case, you may find that during and after charging, the Ring application will still show the battery as low. So, try to ring the doorbell or trigger the motion activation. The battery status in the application will only update if one of these events happens.
Check your wireless Connections: If your internet connection is not working, then the Ring app will not display the battery status. So try to reset your wireless router and then try to set up the connection on your Ring Doorbell device again. Also, if your wireless connection is weak, then your ring doorbell will not work extra hard to find the signals. This can result in the battery run down more quickly than it should, and provides you the impression that it is not charging properly.
Check if the USB Charging Cable Is Working: If you are charging your Ring Doorbell device battery through USB, then make sure to check the cable is working or not. Use the cable to charge other devices or try to use another cable that you know is working with other devices.
Check That Your Charger is providing Enough Power: If you have check USB cable is okay and working, then the next thing you need to check is the USB charger you’re using is working or not. The charger needs to have sufficient power to charge the Ring doorbell battery.
Check whether Battery Is Viable: If you have your Ring doorbell for a long time, and still it has the original battery, maybe that the battery ability of charging has diminished. This will happen over time with lithium batteries. Most of the lithium batteries last around 2-3 years, depending upon the usage conditions. A lithium battery may also degrade fast if it is exposed directly to a high temperature. This degradation can cause shorten its useful life. Charging the lithium battery at a very low temperature for a long period can cause permanent damage to the batteries. If this happened to your battery then you need to replace it. Check whether the Breaker Hasn’t Tripped: If you have a hard-wired Ring Doorbell device, then it should charge the battery automatically. You don’t need to remove the battery from the compartment for charging .If still, the application indicates that the battery is running low or not fully charged, then there may be an issue with your power supply. Check the power status in the ring application that you can find under the Device Health section option. If it says anything other than good then the power supplied to your Ring Doorbell is insufficient to charge the battery.
